Before you board an OLA cab next time, be careful as your life might be in danger. Had one of the most nightmarish experiences with Olacabs tonite. I am in my hometown Pune and I booked a share cab with both onboarding and offboarding information however, the driver who came to pick me half way through the trip said that he cannot drop me at my place as my home is outside “his service boundaries” and if had to drop me at home then I have to pay him extra i.e. Rs.12 per kilometer. I had already made a wallet payment and didn’t understand the logic to pay extra because the destination was not outside the city limits and even OLA later confirmed to me because if it had then the APP wouldn’t pick the location. He said if I do not pay he will hit me and throw me out of the cab after taking me to an isolated place with no electricity or people around. Scared that he would harm me, I told him I will pay him the extra money and called Ola Customer Care and pretended to talk to them as if I am talking to a friend in a calm and composed way in English. The customer care was half as responsible as they kept on disconnecting my call even after knowing my situation. They kept on telling me I should not pay anything extra without understanding the situation. Finally I threatened the customer care rep of lodging a police complaint if the situation is not handled that’s when one of the high and mighty supervisors called the driver and asked him not to charge extra from me and if he charged me they will take him off the list. The driver got into an argument with the supervisor saying he has been told by the Ola trainers and managers to take extra fare for any destination beyond their service boundary from the customer irrespective of the customer having paid the money through wallet in advance. As the driver was engaged in an argument with the supervisor I got down from the cab some half a kilometer away from my destination and got away unnoticed. I do not know how a company like OLA can hire drivers without doing a background check? How safe can a customer feel with such reputed companies? If tomorrow this driver comes to my home and harms me or any of my family members who is going to take the responsibility? As I am writing down this experience here I got a call from OLA team trying to sympathize with me and my situation with a “I understand” dialogue. How can any of the Ola employee sitting on a plush chair warming his ass understand my situation and danger I was subjected to? Highly disappointed! The vehicle number is MH14CX5363 and Driver’s name Sagar Sawant OSN: 5052253… Time to do rectify your mistake and go beyond I UNDERSTANDS and APOLOGIES!!!

  1. happened with me once. Driver was idiot. Stopped for peeing, then for petrol and took wrong route so he can make money.

    He didn’t abuse me like your driver did. I would have punched him in the face and showed his 4th wheel into his ***.

    1. I had booked with ola in vizag to drop me airport at 6am in d morning. My booking was confirmed and allotment pending and just 10minutes prior to pickup i got details of driver and another message that driver initiated cancellation of my booking. I called the driver and he said he is on d way to railway stn and unable to come. This happened to me at the last moment and i had to go by auto to reach the airport for my flight.

  2. ola share is a fuck all option first of all and these drivers will make an issue every time when we will be in emergency.so fuck them to the core .same shitt in bangalore too.

  3. Wow this is almost exactly what happened to me. As i was started reading it I thought I must have posted it and forgotten. In my situation I was about 20km outside the city on a remote highway and this guy suddenly stops. After an argument I got out and took pictures of the car and driver (i might still have them) and threatened to go to the police.The driver eventually took me to my destination. He charge me off the app and later OLA called me to see how much I paid him (So that they could also charge the driver for a comission, I guess) We are so sorry we tried dumped you in the middle of the highway but since you managed to help yourself help us make a couple of extra bucks. AAARrrrrrggggghhhh!!!! I wanted to slap that girl on the phone.

That was so bad… I am sure we all should gather up and raise our voice against Ola… they are apologizing for the goof up and want to chuck the driver from the company but nobody is thinking about what happens next? In retaliation if the driver comes to my place and tries to harm me or my family who is going to be responsible for that???

  5. I had worst experience the driver was talking on phone while driving and abusing a lady on call on the entire way and was super arrogant. I complaint Ola on my feed back. I cannot trust Ola.

  6. Taking security threat lightly is the worst to be expected. How on earth OLA accept such rude driver. It speaks of the company OLA as well.

    If OLA commits for a fare it must ensure it is respected. Highly unprofessional and mismanagement on Company’s part.

  7. Ola sucks these days. I too have faced such a situation in Bangalore when the driver threatened to leave me and my family well short of our destination. We were left dumbstruck at his behaviour and decided not to argue lest he harms us. Later i had filed a complaint against OLA at the consumer forum and was compensated. Having said this didn’t find Uber better either .faced some other issues .

  8. The ola service is very poor at Amritsar also.. They are not available in early morning or late nights even from n to railway stations so why are they running at such location where they cannot provide service. Cab driver either cancels the trip or charges higher amount. It’s better to board taxi or auto rickshaw than ola

  9. Very pathetic service from OLA., I got an experience in Pune only, when I tried to Book Ola Cab at around 5.30 A.M. It was showing me as these are peak Hours and it will charge me almost 3 Times of my Bill pay…This is a straight way Looting the People…at the same time local Rickshaws are charging atmost 1.5 times of Meter reading.
    After realising this online loot from Ola. I booked Cab from Taxforsure… Where I got charge only the Bill amount… No extra Charges…This time Taxforsure did my Job….But there should be restrictions/control on the Charges they are applying on Service..

  10. I had an unpleasant experience with Ola some time back in Pune too. We were being driven towards our destination ( me, my husband and kid, all in the back seat) when the driver slows down and picks up a disreputable character on the way, without any explanation. My husband tried calling Ola customer care, and, as happened with Mr. Matthew, they were slow to respond. The driver was quick to take advantage of the argument and led us a fine dance around the city. He even belligerently claimed to customer care that we didn’t guide him properly. Since the cab was prepaid, customer care assured us that amount for this trip would be refunded, but that is yet to happen. I shudder to think what I’d have done if it was just me and my kid. Nobody is safe, families, single men, let alone women travelling alone. Options like auto are exploitative too, but what choice do we have?

  11. OLA is the worst taxi service. So often the drivers have not turned up/ cancelled. And when I called customer service to complain, while I was saying “Ola is the worst cab service..”, the executive hung up on me, without a word. And that was the last time I used this horrible service.

  12. Bro the same case is with the uber also, uber people also have such type of drivers.
    Don’t know from where they get these type of drivers…

My fight is not only against Ola… but every cab service in India… A life lost is lost forever… why should we wait till then to analyse and see the loop holes in the security system… Every cab service should have a stringent security check before hiring any drivers… Laws should be more stricter for these cab drivers and cab services because we trust and enter their cabs after paying money… cud happen with anyone and everyone… Customer safety should be the primary interest for any company…

  13. Yes ,it is true ola cab service is worst in the world. They have ridiculous drivers .I got very bad experience as well.they have cheap drivers who eating tobacco and illiterate. Guys please never take a ride from ola it’s disgusting.
